One of the many 'Introducing God stories...'

When David and Hannah Grundy agreed to do Introducing God with friends in their lounge room, they had no idea it would lead them to Christ, let alone marriage!
David and Hannah were living in a de facto relationship when they noticed something different about Rowan and Naomi’s marriage – something that worked.
“We had very much come to question our lifestyle by comparing it with our friends who were in a marriage which was based on following God and taking the Bible seriously, and we saw the relationship which they had with God strengthening their marriage, and we saw ourselves taking lead from their relationship,” said David.
The couple started asking their friends about their faith and the way they lived and the two couples agreed to do Introducing God together over dinner on Friday nights. About two-thirds of the way through the course, David and Hannah committed their lives to Christ and soon after to each other in marriage.
“Well our lives have changed quite significantly since we became Christians… we hope. I guess the biggest thing is that we got married,” said David.
As they were introduced to the God of the Bible, David and Hannah were not only convicted of their need for forgiveness, but also by the fact that God wanted to be in relationship with them.
“My understanding about Christianity was patchy… I really liked the way that the course conceptually built upon our sinfulness, which was a hard concept for me to understand at first,” said Hannah. “Our lifestyle was very turned away from God and we began to see ourselves as people who were in need of this forgiveness which was being talked about,” said David.
“Looking into Christianity we saw that God is
a God who is a relational God who wants us to
have a relationship with him.”
“The biggest strength of the course is that it’s relational. It’s a great way for people to share a meal and grow in friendship but also to hear talks which challenge those who aren’t following God to consider Christ in their life,” said David.
“I think it is a good way for questions to be answered in a supportive atmosphere,” said Hannah.
Introducing God creates an environment that makes people feel comfortable and accepted.
“The first time we did Introducing God I was a bit nervous. I felt very ignorant about what Christianity was about, so I was a bit nervous. I thought it might be like a bit of a test or something. It ended up not being like that at all,” said Hannah.
David and Hannah are completing Graduate Diplomas in Education at university and attending church regularly. They are currently considering where to work and live so they might be part of a community of Christians.
