2011: We are currently recruiting for a second MTS apprentice and an additional student minister to train amongst our gatherings in 2012
Past MTS apprentices: 2007 Peter Roach, 2008-9 Brendan Hurley. 2010-11 Apprentice: Simon Holmes
Timothy Partnership (TP)
Our parish has a number of links with youthworks college and the Timothy Partnership. A Timothy Partnership apprentice (2011-12), Karl Bonner, assists with Friday night youth programs. Mike Southon is on Youthworks staff and assists in the online delivery of material
MTS and Timothy Partnership will suit different people. The advantage of the Timothy partnership is that you effectively receive advanced standing for the first year of a B.D. program from bible college whilst engaged in the program (there is no recognition from colleges for participation in the MTS program). As TP is considered formal study, students qualify for government assistance. Hence, it lends itself to self funding students who want to study whilst assisting with pre-existing ministries. However, it is not a full MTS experience as students must devote half of their weekly program towards study.
If you wish to discuss further timothy partnership and connectivity with North Ryde Anglican Church, please talk to our senior minister. Potentially we can offer a scholarship equivalent to $9k cash along with free accomodation within North Ryde at 17 Kokoda St. With government assistance and fund raising of $6k, the scholarship would effectively be worth $30k to the student.
